DIY Brown Sugar & Spice Bath Salts
A brown sugar and spice bath salt can provide you with a spicy, warm, delicious fragrance during a bath. Bath salt concoctions can also help you relax and wind down. Sugar and spice bath salts can be purchased at any large drug store or supermarket, however, commercially sold sugar and spice bath salts can be expensive or may contain harmful chemical fragrances. Things You'll Need
- 2 cups Epsom salt
- 2 cups sea salt
- Bowl
- Spoon
- 4 tbsp. ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp. crushed fresh ginger
- 2 tbsp. crushed fresh garlic
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- Red food coloring
- Glass container

Making The Bath Salts

Add 2 cups of Epsom salt and 2 cups of sea salt in a large bowl. Stir the salt mixture using a clean, dry spoon.

Add 4 tbsp. of ground cinnamon, 2 tbsp. of crushed fresh ginger, 2 tbsp. of crushed fresh garlic and ½ cup of brown sugar to the large bowl. Stir together the spices and salt thoroughly. Add two to four drops of red food coloring to enhance the golden brown color of the mixture.

Pour the mixture into a large glass or plastic container and seal it tightly. Store the bath salts in a cool dry place.
Using The Bath Salts

Fill your bathtub about halfway with hot water that is comfortable for you.

Scoop a handful of the bath salts and place your hand under the bathtub faucet, allowing the bath salts to flow with the water into the bathtub. This will release the fragrance of the brown sugar and spices into the steam.

Get in the bathtub and stir the bath salts into the bath water to circulate them, so the fragrances are released into the steam.
