How to Make Designer Purse Cakes

Save

A designer purse, such as those by Coach, Louis Vuitton or Chanel, is popular with many women, making a designer purse-themed cake appropriate for a woman's event. The event could include a birthday party, a girl's Sweet 16 party or even a bachelorette party. Choose a favorite purse designer as the specific theme for the purse cake or use a variety of different designer purses for inspiration. Be sure to research the purses you intend to use, so you can display the edible purse decorations accurately and with precise detail.

  • Bake two 9-inch round cakes and remove from pans.

  • Chill cakes for approximately 45 minutes in the refrigerator.

  • Cut the bottom of both cakes off, about a quarter of the cakes, and set aside.

  • Mix vanilla frosting with a few drops of food coloring in the desired color to create the bag color of choice.
