1
Add 1 cup salt to 1 gallon warm water.
-
2
Soak your polyester clothing in the warm salt water for at least 1 hour.
-
-
3
Wash the garment with heavy-duty laundry detergent. Do not place the clothing in the dryer after the wash cycle because heat from the dryer causes some stains to set permanently.
-
4
Examine the clothing to see if the stains are removed. If they are still present, add 4 parts liquid dish washing soap to 1 part water in a spray bottle.
-
5
Spray the dish soap and water solution directly onto the perspiration stains. Let the garment set up to 30 minutes so the solution can work on the stain.
-
6
Wash the garment again with heavy-duty laundry detergent and hang the clothing to dry after the wash cycle finishes. Do not put the garment in the dryer until you are certain the stains are gone. If any perspiration stains remain, repeat the soaking and laundering process.
