How to Calculate Alaska Airlines Air Miles

Airline mileage programs let you earn free flights and other rewards.

Alaska Airlines allows mileage members to earn miles on every flight and flight purchase made. Members who also have the Alaska Air mileage credit card earn miles on every purchase made with their card at Alaska Airlines partner facilities. Members can purchase miles for a price as well. When trying to determine whether or not you have enough miles to redeem an Alaska Airlines reward flight, you'll need to use the Alaska Airlines Award Reservations page. Certain destinations require more or less air miles than others, and the only way to know is to look it up.

Instructions

1. Visit the Alaska Airlines website and view the Award Reservations page.

2. Enter your departure and destination cities, travel dates and the number of passengers traveling with you. Click "Start Shopping" to view available reward flights.

3. Review the available reward flights to see how many miles you need to book the flight. If you have not accumulated enough miles to book the reward reservation, Alaska Airlines allows you to purchase additional miles for a fee.
