Instructions

    • 1

Open a white towel on a surface that will not be damaged by contact with acetone. Lay the fabric open on top of the towel with the grass stain facing upward and centered over the towel. If the grass stain is on a non-movable object such as carpet or furniture, skip this step.

    • 2

Apply 1 to 2 tsp. of acetone onto another white cloth and blot the top of the grass stain until it is completely saturated.

    • 3

Apply 1 to 2 tsp. of a dry-cleaning solvent onto a fresh white cloth and blot the stain until it is completely covered. Continue blotting the area until the grass stain is completely removed, applying additional solvent if needed.

    • 4

Place another clean, white cloth on top of the stain and push down firmly on top of it with your hands to soak up the cleaning solutions. Pick up the cloth and turn it to a clean area and repeat the process until you remove as much liquid as possible.

    • 5

Allow the fabric to air dry in a well-ventilated location.

Tips & Warnings

  • If small traces of the grass stain still remain after drying, apply 1 to 2 tsp. of ammonia to the fabric using the same blotting method to remove it.

  • Don't apply acetone to fabrics that are made of triacetate or acetate since it will permanently damage the fabrics.
