How to Disable the Factory Alarm on a 1999 Ford Expedition

Some models of the 1999 Ford Expedition come equipped with a factory-installed alarm system. The alarm system relies on sensors mounted on the vehicle to detect unauthorized entry attempts. The alarm flashes the lights and sounds the horn when triggered. To prevent the triggering of the alarm, you must disable it. You can re-enable the alarm system at any time.

Instructions

1. Turn the ignition switch off.

2. Press and hold the override button located under the dash on the driver's side.

3. Turn the ignition switch on.

4. Release the override button when the security light on the instrument panel stops blinking and remains solid. The alarm is now disabled.
