How to Make a Large Wreath
If you are looking for a larger wreath to hang in a location in your home that is too grand for an average-sized wreath, you may have difficulty locating a wreath that is big enough. One solution is to make your own wreath at home, which will not only allow you to make the wreath as big as you need, but will enable you to use the exact materials in the wreath that you prefer.
Things You'll Need
- Large foam ring, 24 inches wide
- Juniper branches
- Lavender
- Baby's breath
- Hydrangeas
- Florist wire
Instructions
-
-
1
Place a large 24-inch foam florist ring on a table.
-
2
Cut the naturally fragrant materials you want to add to the wreath, including juniper branches, lavender flowers, baby's breath and blooming hydrangeas.
-
-
3
Gather together a few of the materials into a bunch, and place the bunch against the foam ring. Arrange the materials so that the floral blossoms are all facing the same direction.
-
4
Wind florist wire tightly around the bare end of the bunch, securing the materials onto the ring.
-
5
Add a second bunch to the ring, as before, placing it about 2 inches from the first.
-
6
Wrap the florist wire around the second bunch, as before.
-
7
Continue adding bunches of the natural material and winding the wire around it until the entire large wreath is covered completely.
-
8
Wrap an 8-inch piece of wire around the wreath, and curl it into a loop. Twist the end of the wire onto itself to secure the loop. Use the loop to hang up the large wreath for display.
