How to Make Gift Baskets With Coffee Cups

Make a mini gift basket using a large coffee cup. Base the theme of the gift basket on who it's for. It's an appropriate gift for a teacher, a new neighbor or for a hostess. The best part of this small gift basket is the recipient can use the coffee cup after the gifts are removed.

Things You'll Need

  • Jumbo coffee mug
  • Small gifts such as candy, coffee, tea, candles, soaps, pens and notepads
  • Cello wrap
  • Raffia or ribbon
  • Gift tag
  • Fill the mug with small presents. For a tea and coffee lover, get a small trial sized bag of coffee, a few flavored tea bags, some honey sticks, a pretty spoon and a few gourmet cookies and put them in the mug. Other items that fit nicely into large cups are miniature notepads, magnets, pens, assorted candy and cookies. For a more personal gift fill the cup with miniature hand lotions, small bath soaps or makeup items.

  • Place the mug filled with gifts on to a large sheet of colorful cello paper. Bring it up over the sides of the mug and cover all the gifts with it. Gather the edges of the paper together to seal the gift completely inside the paper.

  • Tie pieces of raffia or colorful ribbons of any material around the cello paper to hold it into place around the cup. Thread a gift tag around the ribbon to identify who the gift is to and from.
