How to Convert Analog TV to HDTV

Use your analog TV with HDTV channels.

An analog TV cannot decipher HDTV signals without the help of an HDTV converter box. If you have an old analog TV that you would like to watch, you will need an HDTV converter box to transcribe the HD signals into analog. These converter boxes can be found at electronics dealers. Once you have the converter box hooked up to your analog TV, you will be able to watch all of your cable channels.

Things You'll Need

• HDTV converter box
• Coaxial cables

Instructions

1. Go to the back of your analog TV and look for the "RF In" plug. Locate the "RF Out" plug on the back of your converter box.

2. Screw a coaxial cable into the "RF In" connection on the back of your TV and then connect the other end of your coaxial cable to the "RF Out" connection on your converter box.

3. Connect the cable coaxial cord to the "RF In" connection on your converter box. Turn the switch to the "Channel 3" or "Channel 4" option on your converter box.

4. Turn on your converter box.

5. Turn on your TV and then switch the channel to the corresponding channel from your box.
