How to Cut a Julienne Carrot Stick

Instructions

      Peel the carrot with a potato peeler and rinse it well with water.

      Cut away the outside of the carrot with a chef's knife on four sides to create an even rectangle shape.

      Slice the rectangle length-wise 1/8 of an inch in to create multiple rectangles.

      Stack the slices on top of each other and run the knife through the pile length-wise, again 1/8 of an inch in. Cut across the pile until you are left with a stack of carrot pieces that look like matchsticks.
