How to Play an MP3 in a Toyota Landcruiser
The Toyota Landcruiser is capable of playing MP3s in two ways. The Landcruiser's CD player reads MP3 and WMA data discs, so you can play MP3 discs in the unit. The Landcruiser also has an auxiliary connection, which allows you to connect an MP3 player, such as an iPod or Zune, to the Landcruiser's sound system. You can then listen to the MP3s or other audio files through the sound system.

Playing an MP3 Data Disc

Crank the Landcruiser's engine, or turn the ignition on. Push the "Load" button on the right side of the radio.

Insert the MP3 data disc into the normal CD slot. Make sure the label faces up.

Push "CD/Aux" to begin playing the MP3 data disc.

Skip through tracks by pushing the "5" or "6" button. These buttons are also labeled "Folder." You'll use them in lieu of the normal "Seek" or "Skip" buttons when playing an MP3 data disc.
Using an MP3 Player

Crank the Landcruiser's engine, or turn the ignition on. Inspect the area below the radio. Find a small flap marked "Aux."

Open the flap. You'll see an auxiliary connection behind it. This is the port you'll connect your MP3 player to.

Connect the auxiliary cable to the MP3 player. Connect the other end into the "Aux" port. Push "CD/Aux."

Turn the device on and begin playing tracks on it. They will play through the Landcruiser's sound system. Use the device's controls to change tracks.
