Instructions

1
Remove all of the furniture from your bedroom or push it into the center of the room to avoid staining the pieces with paint. Pull down any curtains or wall decorations before you begin painting.
-
2
Wipe the surface of the walls with a damp rag to remove any dust or residue.
-
-
3
Lay down a drop cloth to protect your floor from paint splatter. Make sure that the drop cloth is lined up with the bottom edge of the walls.
-
4
Line the edge of the ceiling where the ceiling meets the wall with painter's tape.
-
5
Pour the cranberry paint into the paint tray.
-
6
Use the paintbrush to line the edges of the walls with paint and to paint around any outlets on the wall.
-
7
Coat the roller. Roll one of the paint rollers through the paint in the pan to thoroughly coat the pad of the roller; roll it against the textured part of the paint tray to remove any excess paint.
-
8
Begin painting the walls. Roll the roller up and down the wall in smooth, fluid motions, working on one wall at a time. You may need to use an extender to reach the tallest points of the wall. Cover the walls as thoroughly as possible with the paint.
-
9
Allow the paint to dry for three to four hours. If more than one coat of paint is needed, allow each coat to dry before applying the next.

Tips & Warnings
Select the correct paint type for your needs. For example, latex-based paint has less odor and will be easier to paint over at a later date, while oil-based based paint has a stronger smell and will harden on the walls for a more permanent finish.
Consider finishes when purchasing the paint. For example, matte finish does not reflect light. If you have any imperfections on your walls, such as bumps or cracks, this finish will make them easier to hide. However, matte finish cannot be wiped down or cleaned as it will remove the paint from the wall. Flat enamel finish is similar in appearance to matte finish but can be cleaned. Eggshell finish is a finish that is slightly glossy but unable to be cleaned. Satin finish has a moderately glossy appearance and will reflect light in the room. Satin finish is rich in texture and will hold up when cleaned on a regular basis. Glossy finish is extremely shiny and durable.
Paint shrinks as it dries; you may notice sections of the walls where the original color is showing through the paint. If any of the original color is showing through, paint over it with another light coat of cranberry paint.
