How to Make Knight Costumes for Girls

How to Make Knight Costumes for Girls thumbnail
Make a knight costume for your little girl to wear for Halloween.

Let your little girl have a one-of-a-kind costume this year by making her a knight costume. It is a new era and girls can be knights too. Tweak this homemade costume by using her favorite colors, like pink, purple, yellow or green, instead of traditional knight colors like blue, red and gold. With a few simple supplies you can turn a plain white shirt and black pants into a knight costume for her. Add knee-high boots and a sword and your little girl will be ready to go dragon slaying.

  • Bath towel
  • Scissors
  • Iron-on transfer paper
  • Sweatshirt (plain colored) or shirt with hood
  • Elastic band

Instructions

    • 1

Create a shield. Cut a hole in the middle of the bath towel so that it fits over her head. The bath towel can be any color she wishes (e.g., pink, blue, white). Coolest-Homemade-Costumes suggests finding a knight image online, which can be done using a simple images search on your preferred search engine. Print the image onto iron-on transfer paper, and iron it onto a bath towel. Put the bath towel over her head and over her plain colored sweatshirt; this will serve as her shield.

Make a headband. Create a headband from an elastic band cut to fit her head. Glue sparkles of the color of her choice all over and let it dry. Have her put her hood on, and then put the headband on over her hood. The headband should be resting horizontally on her head.

Make a sword for your girly knight. Cut a piece of cardboard into a sword shape and cover it with aluminum foil. Be sure to glue along the way so that the shiny sword does not fall apart during play.

Add knee-high boots and a fake horse to complete the outfit if you wish, and your little girl knight can ride off into the sunset.
