How to Remove Hard Water Deposits From Stone

Clean hard water deposits from stone surfaces with white vinegar.

Hard water deposits accumulate on many surfaces, and stone is no exception. To safely remove the hard water deposits, use a mild cleaning solution safe enough for use on the stone yet strong enough to remove the hard water buildup. Do not use chemical ingredients that will discolor the stone -- instead use a common household item that is probably already in your kitchen cupboard.

Things You'll Need

• Spray bottle
• Water
• White vinegar
• Cleaning rags

Instructions

1. Mix equal portions of water and white vinegar in a spray bottle.

2. Spray the mixture onto the stone, and scrub off gently with a cleaning rag. Diluting the vinegar slightly diminishes the acidic content so it is safe for the use on stone, but still strong enough to remove buildup caused by hard water.

3. Let the stone air dry, and repeat if you notice any leftover hard water residue.
