How to Make a Cork Board for Hair Ties
Hair ties are used by people with longer hair, primarily women, on a regular basis and are often misplaced, dropped or lost. While these hair tie items are relatively inexpensive to replace, it's nice to have a place to store your hair ties so that you can hold on to specific ones for longer periods of time. This can be done by building a cork board where you can hang hair ties so that you always know where they are. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Gather wine corks. This can be done from bottles of wine you have drunk yourself, collected from restaurants that serve wine or just purchased in hardware or craft stores in bulk.
-
2
Cut a thin piece wood to the size you want your cork board hair tie holder to be. One foot by one foot should be large enough, but cut it larger if you have more hair ties that you may want to store.

3
Glue these corks onto the piece of board in end-to-end rows so that they cover the entire wooden board with individual corks. Use a strong adhesive glue that will bond wood and cork together for a long period of time.

Screw in hooks to the cork attached to the board. These screw-in hooks can be bought at a hardware store in a number of different colors. Have these hooks facing up once they are screwed all the way in to the cork and hang your hair ties on them.

Tips & Warnings
Line up all of the corks you want on the board before you cut it so that it is sized to fit corks that have been lined up end-to-end properly.
