Make a wreath headpiece accessory.

Wreath headpieces are often worn by flower girls, brides, girls making their First Communion or as an accessory with a fairy costume. Instead of purchasing a wreath headpiece, make your own to match your attire and reflect your personal style. Decide if you want to use real or fake flowers and simply attach them to some wire to create an attractive accessory for your hair.

Instructions

    • 1

Wrap a length of florist wire around the wearer's head, forming a circle. Remove the wire, maintaining the size of the head.

    • 2

Use wire cutters to cut the excess wire off the circle. Secure the two ends of the wire with floral tape, forming a wreath shape. The floral tape also covers the sharp ends of the wire, preventing the wearer from being cut.

    • 3

Clip and assemble a small bouquet using flowers and greenery. Use one to three flowers in each bouquet. Use floral tape to secure the bouquets together.

    • 4

Cut two to four 8-inch lengths of decorative ribbon. Tie the ribbon in a knot around the wire, allowing it to hang down. This creates streamers to hang down the back of your hair when wearing the wreath.

    • 5

Attach each small bouquet to the wire wreath form. Use floral tape to attach each bouquet to the wire. Start at one end of the wire and work your way around, completely covering the wire.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have opted to use real flowers, assemble the wreath the day before you intend to wear it. Store it in a refrigerator after assembling it to maintain freshness as long as possible.
