Making giant candy decorations for your lawn is a festive way to show your holiday spirit around Christmas. You can make these oversized candy decorations with just a few household items and a little bit of creativity. Once you're done making them, set them up around your lawn using fishing wire or small clips. You'll have some of the most creative--and sweetest looking-- outdoor lawn decorations on your block.

Things You'll Need

  • Hollow pool noodle
  • Fishing line
  • White ribbon
  • Straight pins
  • Frisbee
  • Tinfoil
  • Colored cellophane
  • Clear tape
  • Ribbon

Pool Noodle Candy Cane

Bend the hollow pool noodle at the top to create the "hook" of a candy cane. Tie a loop of fishing wire around the tip of the "hook", and run the line perpendicular to the corresponding part of the "stem" of the candy cane. Tie another loop around the "stem" to secure the shape.

Pin the end of your white ribbon to the inside of the pool noodle, starting at the tip of the candy cane "hook". Wrap it around the entire pool noodle to create that candy cane striped pattern, securing it in place with more pins along the way if necessary.

Place the other end of the white ribbon inside the bottom of the "stem" of the pool noodle candy cane once you reach the end, and pin it in place.

Frisbee Hard Candy

Wrap the Frisbee in aluminum foil to disguise the original color.

Set the Frisbee in the center of a 30 inch by 40 inch rectangle of cellophane. Fold the cellophane over the Frisbee as if wrapping a gift, creating a long rectangular strip of cellophane with plenty of extra material on either side of the Frisbee. Secure the Frisbee in place using clear packing tape.

Twist the extra cellophane on either side of the Frisbee to create the illusion of a wrapped hard candy. Secure it in place with a ribbon bow.
