How to Make Easy Wine Bottle Crafts

Things You'll Need

• Empty wine bottle
• Dish soap
• Adhesive remover (optional)
• Masking tape
• Safety glasses and protective gloves
• Electric hand-held drill
• 1/2-inch glass bit
• String of white mini-lights

Instructions

1. Remove an unwanted label by soaking the wine bottle in warm, soapy water for 20 minutes. Rinse out the inside of the bottle to remove any wine residue. Peel off the label and allow the bottle to thoroughly air-dry. Rub any label glue residue with a bit of adhesive remover until it is gone.

2. Place a piece of masking tape on the back of the wine bottle, near the bottom, to indicate where to drill a hole and to keep the drill bit from slipping. Put on a pair of safety glasses and protective gloves in case the bottle shatters.

3. Use an electric hand-held drill equipped with a 1/2-inch glass drill bit to create a hole over the masking tape. Keep the drill on a low setting and slowly penetrate the glass with the bit to prevent the glass from breaking.

4. Remove the masking tape from the bottle when the hole is complete. Rinse the bottle with water to remove any glass shavings. Allow the bottle to air-dry.

5. Feed a string of white mini-lights into the bottle through the drilled hole, leaving the end featuring the plug-in outside of the bottle. Fill the entire bottle with lights. Place the bottle near an electric outlet and turn the lights on for a glowing effect.
