Instructions for Knitting Washcloths

Give knit washcloths as a house warming gift.

If you are invited to a house warming party, it is customary to bring a gift to the hostess of the party to celebrate and honor the new home. These gifts should be something that can be used in the new house, such as washcloths. Although you can buy washcloths at a department store, you can make the gift more personal by making the washcloths yourself. You can make hand-knit washcloths using a few basic craft materials.

Things You'll Need

• 3 skeins DK weight cotton yarn
• Size 11 knitting needles
• Scissors

Instructions

1. Tie the ends of three skeins of DK weight yarn together.

2. Cast 20 stitches onto size 11 knitting needles, using all three skeins as one strand.

3. Knit the stitches until you have 8 inches of knitting.

4. Cast off all of the stitches.

5. Trim off the excess yarn and weave in the ends, if desired. Repeat this process until you have as many washcloths as you want.
