How to Record a Video With a Sony Handycam
The Sony Handycam is a digital camcorder with a hard disc drive built into the camera for recording audio and video. Handycams have a storage capacity of approximately 12 hours of video, depending on the model. The camcorders are equipped with both a viewfinder for framing your subject, as well as a fold-out LCD screen for viewing the action as it is recorded. Simple push-button operation lets almost anyone operate a Handycam to record a video.

Slide the power control knob clockwise in the direction of the arrow to turn on the Handycam.

Fold out the LCD screen on the left side of the camcorder. The screen illuminates.

Remove the lens cap cover from the lens on the front of the camcorder.

Look through the viewfinder on the upper right side of the back of the camcorder, or view the LCD screen to see the image the camcorder will capture.

Press the "Start/Stop" button below the power control knob to begin recording a video. Press the "Start/Stop" button again to stop the recording and automatically save the video on the camcorder's internal hard drive.
