How to Put on Buckaroo Cowboy Spur Straps
Buckaroo Leather is a leather horse tack provider and seller. They offer horse-related leather accessories, including spurs and spur straps. Spur straps hold spurs to a cowboy boot. Buckaroo Leather spur straps are made for show and for utility purposes. They offer dove-wing and buckle-style spur straps. Dove-wing spur straps are thick bodied in the center and narrow out toward the button holes at both ends. The buckle-style spur strap is distinguished most notably by a buckle, but can also be identified by a lopsided appearance of being larger at one end than the other. Does this Spark an idea?

Put on a Buckle-style Spur Strap
-
1
Pick up one spur. Locate the knobs or buttons on the inner or outer side of the two ends of the spur. Turn the spur so that the open end is facing away from you, or as it will face on your boot when you wear it.
-
2
Pick up a buckle-style spur strap. Hold the spur strap so that the buckle is on the right side, facing away from you. Attach the spur button on your right side through the right button hole. The right button hole should be the largest side of the strap. Pop the left button through the other button hole on the buckle-style spur strap. This can be performed easily in your hand and slipped around your boot afterward.
-
-
3
Slip the spur and spur strap over the top of the right foot boot and slide down. Adjust the buckle to attain a better fit around the ankle of the boot. Slip the leather strap out from the buckle. Loosen or tighten as needed by adjusting the placement of the metal tongue through a different buckle hole.
-
4
Lift the second spur and spur strap. Face the spur opening away from you.
-
5
Take the second buckle-style spur strap in hand. Make sure the buckle is on your left side, facing out from you. Attach the spur button on your left side through the button hole on the left. The larger end of the spur strap should correspond with the left side. Pop the right button through the other button hole on the buckle-style spur strap.
-
6
Slip the spur and spur strap over the top of the left foot boot and slide down. Adjust the buckle to attain a better fit around the ankle of the boot. Slip the leather strap out from the buckle. Loosen or tighten as needed by adjusting the placement of the metal tongue through a different buckle hole, like a belt.
-
7
Pull your boots on.
Put on Dove wing Spur-straps
-
8
Face the opening of each spur out as it will look on your boots when you wear them. Locate the knobs or buttons on the two ends of each spur. Set the spurs on a table facing in this outward direction.
-
9
Note that the dove-wing straps have one button hole on one end and many button holes on the other. The multiple button hole end of the strap goes on the inner ankle of the boot. Each spur and spur strap should form the shape of a circle with two diametrically opposing points, like polar axis. Match the spurs and strap together to ascertain which ends correspond to which. Ensure that the multiple button holes on both straps will face one another.
-
10
Pop the spur button that corresponds to the single button hole side through that button hole. Repeat the same action for the second spur and spur strap.
-
11
Wrap each spur and dove wing strap around a boot, with the spur resting just above the back heel and the center of the strap resting on top of the boot foot. Fit each strap so that the multiple button hole side rests around the inner ankle of the boot.
-
12
Adjust the fit of each strap by slipping the spur button on the inner ankle through one of that strap's button holes, which should also be on the inner ankle. Ensure that the spur fits securely with no wiggle room. Pull on your boots!
