You can disconnect your moped's brake cable in about 10 minutes.

Sooner or later, your Puch moped will require some moderate maintenance. This may involve tasks such as replacing a wheel, changing the tire inner tube or disconnecting a brake cable. Fortunately, disconnecting a Puch brake cable can be done by almost anyone with only a screwdriver or a socket wrench. In about 10 minutes of your time, you can remove both the front and back brake cables from the moped.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate the back wheel brake cable on your moped. The cable will almost always be located to the right of the wheel, and it is held in place with a nut and bolt. Loosen the nut using your socket wrench; from there, simply slide the cable out of the nut. There is no need to completely remove the nut and bolt from the moped.

    • 2

Find the front wheel brake cable. This is located on the top of the wheel, usually right above the tire. Remove the cable using either an Allen wrench, screwdriver or socket wrench; the type of connector depends on the Puch moped model.

    • 3

Thread the front brake cable out of the front tire. The brake cables are now disconnected from your Puch moped.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can substitute a socket wrench with an adjustable one if you don't own a socket wrench.
