How to Increase an iPhone 3G's RAM

The Apple iPhones, versions 3 and 4, come with 3G capabilities, which allows easy access to the fast 3G Internet network connections available in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Australia and other countries. To let your iPhone work faster, you can increase the RAM, or random access memory, available to the 3G connection. You can do that by canceling applications that are running in the background of your phone.

Instructions

    • 1

Minimize all open applications by tapping the "Home" button on your Phone.

    • 2

Double-tap "Home." A window showing all running applications running in the background will appear at the bottom of the screen. This is the multitasking panel. It shows the applications that are currently using up the processor power and taking up the RAM that you'd like to assign solely to the 3G connection.

Close all running applications one by one. However, do not close the "3G Connection," because this application is responsible for the 3G Internet connection, whose access to RAM you'd like you expand. Also, if you are browsing the Internet, do not close the Safari browser. To close an application, simply tap it once and then tap "Cancel."
