How to Use Alfalfa Pellets in a Fish Pond
Alfalfa is a leguminous hay crop that is indigenous to Europe, is high in protein and has many different applications in various forms. One way to prepare alfalfa is to compress it down into pellet form for use with animals. You can add alfalfa to your fish pond to provide your fish with extra protein and nutrients. The alfalfa itself lacks certain vitamins, so a specific supplementing routine is required to keep the fish healthy.
Instructions

1
Establish how many pellets the fish need by sprinkling a few pellets onto the pond at feed time. Add more as the fish eat the previously placed ones.
-
2
Stop adding pellets once the fish will no longer eat them after waiting for five minutes. The amount of pellets the fish consume is how much you should administer at each application.
-
-
3
Toss the determined amount of pellets all over the top of the pond at the same time every day. Do this for five days in a row every week.
-
4
Skip the alfalfa pellets for the remaining two days per week. Instead, apply green grass pellets in the same way. Follow the five days and two days pattern every week.
