How to Haul a Moped With a Class B Motorhome

How to Haul a Moped With a Class B Motorhome thumbnail
Mopeds allow RVers to move beyond the campground and explore new territory.

For owners of Class B motorhomes, which are typically motorhomes constructed within the dimensions of a van, hauling a moped on trips is a convenient way to explore destination areas without the trouble of towing a car or taking the motorhome itself to restaurants and other points of interest. Hauling a moped with a Class B motorhome is easily accomplished once you attach a bike rack to the vehicle.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Attach your bicycle rack to the front of your motor home. This will give your moped the best chance of surviving the bumps and curves of your journey. However, some companies make a hitch-mounted hauler that must be attached to the hitch, located on the back of your motor home.

    • 2

Slide the moped on the bike rack or hitch-mounted hauler. Use the rack's cords or plastic holders to hold the moped in place.

    • 3

Strap bungee cords around the wheels of the moped, and connect them to your motor home. This extra layer of security will provide the best chance of avoiding an accident while transporting your moped.

    • 4

Place the kickstand up on the moped, if it has one. Also, set the moped to its "park" setting, if it has one. Your moped is now ready to be transported.
