How to Cook on a Ducane Rotisserie

Ducane offers a propane grill that comes with a 12,500-BTU rotisserie cooking system. You can also purchase a separate rotisserie attachment if your grill doesn't have that feature. Rotisserie-style cooking is an alternative to grilling that allows consistent heat and evenly cooked meat. The Ducane grill that features the rotisserie burner comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Place the meat on the spit rod and make sure it is balanced. The later model Ducane rotisserie grills and attachments come with a counter balance to ensure even cooking. If you don't have a counter balance, adjust the meat until it is evenly balanced on the spit.

    • 2

Secure the meat on the rotisserie skewer and fasten tightly. Put the spit forks into the meat. It is important to make sure the meat is tightly secured on the spit. If you are cooking chicken, be sure to secure the legs and wings.

    • 3

Plug in and turn on the motor. The motor mounts onto the side of the grill. Once you've turned on the motor, let the meat rotate enough times to make sure that it is not obstructed in any way. Close the hood.

    • 4

Adjust the temperature. Typically on a rotisserie the temperature will range from 300 to 375 degrees F. Cooking at a lower temperature for a longer time will result in more tender meat.

Tips & Warnings

  • An advantage to rotisserie cooking is that it will self-baste but you want to periodically check the meat in case the forks need adjusting in case the meat shrinks during cooking.

  • It is recommended that you follow any instructions that come with your Ducane grill or rotisserie attachment.
