Instructions

    • 1

Write a list of coupon categories, such as "retailers" and "services," for your booklet. Also list local business owners who might contribute a coupon for the book. Visit or call the businesses you've chosen, introduce your organization and explain your idea for raising money. The goal is to get the business owners to give you a coupon to include in your booklet. They get advertising out of the effort and your organization gets the coupons it needs to construct a coupon book.

Open a word processor or desktop publishing program for a template to design your coupon. The template allows you to create several coupons per page, typically about six per sheet, and to maintain consistency for each one. Keep the design simple. Type the information for the coupon each business offered into the template. If a business provided its logo, include it on the coupon. Print out your coupons.

    • 3

Create a cover design for your booklet using the same template you used for the coupons. The cover should have your organization's logo on it, as well as contact information and the price of the coupon book. You can price the booklet as high as you'd like, but keep the price affordable, between $15 and $25.

Print the cover on heavier stock, or paper, than the coupon stock. Cut your coupons and cover using a paper cutter. Cut your book binding to fit your coupon booklet template. For example, if the coupons are 3 inches high, cut the binding the same length. Place all the coupons together in the order you want them to appear. You can present the coupons alphabetically or by category. Place the coupons between your covers and binding. Staple the booklet together with staples large enough to hold the coupons together.
