How to Hook Up a Coaxial to Your Plasma TV

Coaxial cable connects to the TV through RF ports.

Your plasma TV relies on coaxial cables to connect the TV's antenna to the RF (Radio Frequency) ports on the back of the set. Coaxial cable is easy to work with, as there is no soldering required to connect it. The process of connecting coaxial cable to a plasma TV does not require the use of any tools and only takes minutes to complete.

Instructions

1. Turn the TV around so you can easily access the RF connection on the back of set. Locate the RF connector. This is a threaded port labeled "Antenna In."

2. Place the end of the coaxial cable onto the RF connector so the pin in the cable fits in the hole in the middle of the port. Then, twist the metal, nut-shaped end of the cable clockwise until the coaxial cable is tightened into place.

3. Press the "Menu" button on the remote, and select the "Channels" option. Select the "Antenna" or "Cable" option, whichever applies to you. Then, select the "Find Channels" option. The TV searches for channels available via the antenna that is plugged into your TV through the coaxial connection.
