How to Find Out About the Status of My Food Stamp Application
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP is the food stamp program for those in need in the United States. SNAP provides individuals and families with funds to purchase food and is based on the family need and income. SNAP is issued to families by their local Office of Human Services. All applications should be forwarded to your local office for approval. The local office will make the determination of your approval based on the information provided on your application.

Dial your local office phone number from any landline or cell phone (see Resources).

Request to be connected with your social worker. Your social worker information is the notification documentation you received in the mail from your local SNAP office. If you haven't received any documentation from your SNAP office, the receptionist will be able to provide your social worker's information.

Request the status of your application from your social worker.
