How to Create a New Directory for Runescape on Windows Vista thumbnail
Create a new folder on your computer to store the Runescape client software.

Runescape is a massively multiplayer online role playing game, or MMORPG, that is designed to run within your computer's web browser using the Java programing language to interpret the game data. However, sometimes the game may not function correctly within the web browser, so the makers of Runescape have developed client software that you can run from a directory on your computer.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on "Start" then click on your user name, located directly under the "Start" button. In the window that opens, right-click anywhere, then point to "New," then "Folder," then click.

    • 2

Name the folder something you will remember -- for example "Runescape Client Software" -- then press "Enter."

    • 3

Download the Runescape client software. When your computer asks where you would like to save the file, browse to the folder you just created and click "Save" to download the software.

    • 4

Browse to the directory you created and double-click on the "Runescape.exe" file you downloaded. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation of the Runescape client.
