1
Place the white sheet over the person who will be wearing the costume. You can use a twin size sheet for a child's costume and a queen or king size sheet for an adult's costume. The sheet should fall just above the ankles. Make sure the sheet isn't too long as it will drag in the dirt and could cause the person to trip. Mark the holes for the eyes with a black marker so you will know where to cut, and mark two openings for the armholes.

Remove the sheet and cut out the eye and arm holes. Make sure the eye openings are big enough so the person can see through them. Cut the sheet along the bottom so it will have a frayed look. It is a good idea to wear white sweatpants and a white hooded sweatshirt underneath the costume for warmth. This also serves to make your arms appear white through the arm holes of the sheet. You can also cut the bottom of the sweatpants so they have a frayed, jagged appearance.

Cover your face with white Halloween makeup so your ghost will appear to have a pale, "dead" look through the eye holes of the sheets. You can also cover your hands with the white makeup for a pale, ghostly look. If you don't have any white makeup, use baby powder. You may also add embellishments to your costume such as a fake spider web or fake chains, which are available at craft stores or party supply stores.
