How to Haul a Honda Shadow 2007 in a Ford Ranger

You can haul your 2007 Honda Shadow in a Ford Ranger.

You don't need a fancy trailer or other equipment to haul your Honda Shadow motorcycle. A pickup truck does the job well. If you need to haul your Honda Shadow to an event or to the dealership for service, you can haul it in your Ford Ranger with just a few simple supplies that you probably already have on hand.

Things You'll Need

• Tie-down straps
• Sturdy piece of 7-foot long plywood (for Rangers with a 6-foot box)

Instructions

1. Place a 7-foot long sheet of plywood in the bed of your Ford Ranger and ensure that it creates a bridge from the truck bed over the tailgate to support your Shadow. This is necessary only in Ford Rangers with a 6-foot bed; a Shadow will fit fully in a long bed Ranger with the tailgate closed.

2. Load your Shadow into the bed of your Ranger using a ramp or the side of a hill.

3. Use tie-down straps to secure your motorcycle to the sides of your Ranger. For proper support and safety, tie-down straps are secured around the handlebars on each side, around the frame near the seat on each side, and around the rear frame or rear axle on each side.

4. Close the tailgate on your long-bed Ranger. On a short-bed Ranger, the wheel of your Shadow rests on the tailgate.

5. Drive carefully to your destination. Check your mirrors often and ensure that your Shadow is still secure in your truck bed.
