Miniature Yorkshire terriers, commonly known as Yorkies, are small, energetic dogs, They have long, shiny fur that needs to be brushed frequently, and trimmed on a regular basis. Their temperament is generally loving and gentle, but they can be stubborn. Taking care of a Yorkie requires patience and a lot of energy, but is rather easy once their basic needs are met.

  1. Grooming your Yorkshire Terrier

      Brush your dog every dog to keep its fur from matting and tangling.

      Trim the hair on its ears when needed, making sure to keep it very short.

      Bathe your dog once a month using baby shampoo.

      Clip your dog's nails when needed. Once the nails start to make clicking noises on the floor when your dog walks, it's time to trim them.

      Feed your Yorkie one cup of food at a time, making sure that the dish is refilled once it becomes empty.

      Make sure that there is plenty of fresh water in its dish, refilling it as needed.

      Walk your Yorkie at least once a day.

      Make sure that your dog has plenty of toys for playing.
