Wheat berries are whole, unprocessed grains of wheat, with most of the raw nutrients intact. There are different ways to cook the wheat berry.   • 3 cups water
  • 1 tbsp. canola oil

      Soak wheat berries in water for at least 4 hours. Drain the berries and set them aside.

      In a large bowl, combine the wheat berries, canola oil and water. Place all of the ingredients into the pressure cooker and set it to high pressure. Turn your stove burner on high and bring the mixture to a boil, allowing steam to escape from the pressure cooker.

      Once the mixture has come to a full boil, reduce the burner heat to low and allow it to continue cooking for approximately 20 minutes. Remove the pressure cooker from the stove burner and allow it to depressurize naturally for 20 minutes.

      After 20 minutes, press the pressure release valve and carefully open the lid. Drain the wheat berries in a colander and rinse well with water.

Tips & Warnings

  • Soak the wheat berries for at least four hours or longer if possible.

  • You may also add a teaspoon of salt to the mixture before cooking if desired.
