How to Replace Military Discharge Papers
To replace military discharge papers, living veterans or the next of kin of deceased veterans can obtain a free copy of the veteran's DD Form 214, Report of Separation, from the National Archives and Records Administration. Request papers online by answering questions using the eVetRecs system. The typical response time is about 10 days.
