How to Use a Verizon Air Card With a Wireless Network

The Verizon Air Card enables users to connect to high speed Internet anywhere a Verizon cell phone can receive service. Its portability makes it an effective option for travelers or people frequently on the move in need of a reliable Internet connection. Users can also create their own wireless networks with their Air Card, allowing them to share files and documents with any other computer on the same network.

Instructions

1. Install the software that is included with your Air Card. Follow the simple on-screen instructions to complete the software installation. When the installation is complete, double-click the Verizon Wireless Internet Connection icon on your desktop. Insert your Air Card into any open USB slot on your computer.

2. Enter the telephone number you were assigned by Verizon when you purchased your Air Card. Locate the username and password assigned to you by Verizon and enter it when prompted.

3. Click the "Start" menu in Windows and then select "Control Panel" and launch the "Network and Sharing Center." Choose "Set up a network."

4. Click the "Wireless" network option and make sure to enable file sharing when prompted. Type in "Verizon Air Card" in the "WORKGROUP" field. Restart your computer to complete the creation of your wireless network.
