Instructions

  1. Homemade Roach Poison

    • 1

Mix 1 part boric acid, 1 part sugar and 2 parts flour. Cocoa powder may be substituted for the sugar if needed. This combination will serve as an enticing poison to roaches, with the sugar or cocoa attracting them, the flour keeping the combination together and the boric acid killing the pests.

    • 2

Place the mixture anywhere you suspect roaches frequent. Behind toilets, under cabinets and in cracks between walls and appliances are common areas for roach traffic.

    • 3

Monitor the bait stations closely, setting out additional mixture as the original amount declines. Extend the process until no further decline in cockroach traffic is noted.

    Homemade Roach Trap

    • 4

Fill a few jars about halfway with tap water.

    • 5

Sprinkle fresh coffee grounds into each jar.

    • 6

Place the jars in areas where you have observed roach traffic. Roaches will be drawn into the jars by the coffee and become trapped inside.

    • 7

Dispose of the jars' contents after each successful catch.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may purchase boric acid at a pharmacy.

  • Do not place the mixture containing boric acid anywhere that children and pets may have access to it.
