1
Purchase all the materials at a local craft store. Discount stores also may carry these items. A black baseball cap with a red visor is ideal, but a black cap will work, as well. Read the label on the black puffy paint to be sure it is compatible with fabric.
-
2
Trace a half circle around the front part of the baseball cap, using tracing paper and a pencil. Then, freehand two right angles facing each other on the bottom left and right hand corners of the semicircle. Cut out the figure on tracing paper.

3
Overlay the tracing paper on the red felt and cut around the figure, using fabric scissors. Place the red felt on the baseball cap and center it, then glue the semicircle to the cap.
-
4
Cut out two skinny semicircles from the white felt. Glue the pieces so they fit within the right triangles in the red felt. These will be the eyes.
-
5
Cut six to seven half-inch strips of black felt and arrange them in a spider web pattern on the red felt. Glue the vertical strips first and then the horizontal strips, to avoid awkward overlapping.
-
6
Outline the eyes and red felt, using black puffy paint. This is optional, but it really makes the shapes pop and gives the baseball cap added texture.

Tips & Warnings
It is best to use fabric scissors specially made to cut cloth. Household scissors are not usually sharp enough to cut cleanly.
