You iPod music library stores the music files you listen to on your iPod device. Music is added to your iPod and to the iPod's music library through the iTunes sync process. Since the music transferred to your iPod originated from your iTunes music library, you can recover any deleted music files directly from your computer's iTunes library.

Instructions

      Attach the iPod data cable to the port located at the bottom of your iPod device. Connect the other end of the data cable to an available USB port on your computer.

      Open the iTunes program on your computer.

      Select your iPod from the list of "Devices" located on the left-hand side of the iTunes window.

      Select the iTunes "Music" tab.

      Select the music you want to transfer back to your iPod device. You can select music by song, artist, album, genre or playlist.

      Click the "Sync" button. iTunes will automatically transfer the selected music back to your iPod device. iTunes will prompt you when the transfer is complete and it is safe to remove your iPod from the data cable.
