How to Do a Power Shot in Wii Sports Tennis

"Wii Sports" offers several activities that introduce players to the motion controls of the Nintendo Wii. This pack-in game includes baseball, bowling, golf, boxing and tennis. Up to four players can participate in a game of tennis, which requires you to swing the Wii remote as you would a tennis racket. You can make some shots go faster if you swing the Wii remote in a certain way and use the right timing during your stroke.

Instructions

    • 1

Press the "A" button on the Wii remote to toss the ball up and begin your serve.

    • 2

Swing the remote when the ball is at the top of the lob and your serve will be much faster than normal. If you are only slightly off on this timing, the serve will be average speed.

    • 3

Put topspin on the ball when returning shots to make the ball move faster once it hits your opponent's side of the court. Twist the remote down as you swing. This works for both forehand and backhand shots.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful not to swing in an upward motion when returning shots as this will put lob on the ball, slowing down the speed of your shot.
