How to Clean Out a Toy Room
Small children can create big messes. This is especially true in a toy room, with so many objects that can be strewn on the floor or get caught under furniture. You'll need to clean out the toy room and organize it so that each toy has a place off the floor but is still accessible to the child. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Remove all furniture and toys from the room. Take them into an open space, such as a living room.
-
2
Vacuum the floors and dust off all shelves and other furniture in the toy room.

3
Separate the toys into three piles. The first pile is for the toys that the child still plays with and that are still age-appropriate. The second is for toys that are broken or damaged and need to be thrown out. The third pile is for toys that the child never plays with but are still in good condition and can be donated to charity.
-
4
Box up the toys to be donated and throw those that are no longer useful into the trash.
-
5
Install shelves in the toy room to hold toys that the child plays with often. Make sure the shelves can be easily reached by the child.
-
6
Add storage bins to the room to put toys that the child plays with occasionally. This might include items like board games, action toys or coloring materials. Make sure the child can reach the bins.
-
7
Separate all remaining toys by category. Decide where each category of toys should go. Make sure they all fit in one place, such as in one drawer or storage bin, and put them away.
