Things You'll Need

  • Aluminum flashing
  • Tin snips
  • Ruler
  • Glue
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Small clamp

Instructions

    • 1

      Cut a strip 36 inches long and 1 inch wide from the aluminum flashing with tin snips.

      Fold flashing strip in half. Do not tighten the fold.

      Glue the ends together and clamp with small clamp. Follow adhesive directions for the length of time needed for the glue to set. Make sure the glue is a non-toxic glue that can be used on items that are used to make food.

      Bend the top of flashing, where the fold is, in to make the heart shape to the desired length and width.

      Wash the cookie cutter before using it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Useheavier gauge aluminum, so large cookie cutter does not bend and lose shape. If needed, make a bar of flashing for across the width of the heart cookie cutter.

  • Double-sided tape will not stand the heat in a dishwasher, so try not to use it if a strong glue is available.
