Save your data directly to an SD card.

The Dell Axim X51V is a portable phone that uses the Windows Mobile operating system. With this phone, you can access the Internet over Wi-Fi, connect to Bluetooth hardware and access data (such as Word documents and emails) as you would do on a PC. If you want to upload new data to the phone, you can save the information to a portable SD card. This is possible because the Axim X51V has two built-in expansion card slots that allow you to upload data easily from any SD card.

Instructions

    • 1

Connect the SD card reader to an available USB port on your computer using a standard USB data cable. If you already have a built-in card reader on your PC that can read an SD card, skip this step and go on to the next.

    • 2

Insert an SD card into a compatible slot on the card reader. Your computer will confirm that a new removable device has been detected.

    • 3

Click "Start," "Computer" and then click the icon for the removable device. A window will open displaying all the files currently saved on the SD card.

    • 4

Navigate to the folder on your drive containing the program or files that you want to copy to the SD card (leave the window with the list of files on the SD card open for the time being). The exact location of the files will vary but most often will be on your "C" drive.

    • 5

Click and drag any document or program that you would like to upload to your Axim X51V phone into the open window. The selected files will be copied over to the SD card.

    • 6

Close the open window when you are finished copying files. Right-click the icon for your SD card and choose "Eject." You can now remove the card from the reader.

    • 7

Insert the SD card into one of the two compatible slots on the Dell Axim X51V. Your phone will automatically detect and upload the data from the SD card.
