How to Add Music to Birthday E-Cards

Music can make a personal addition to birthday e-cards.

E-cards are a quick and convenient way to send birthday wishes to friends and loved ones. In a few minutes, you can send birthday wishes to anyone around the globe. However, it can be difficult to make e-cards as personal as a traditional birthday card, which you have to sign yourself. By adding personal touches to birthday e-cards, such as photographs, messages and music, you can make the messages much more personal and meaningful.

Instructions

1. Choose a website to send your e-card. One of the most popular of these is E-Cards, though other websites will also let you add music to your e-cards and function in similar ways.

2. Browse birthday e-cards and select the one you want to send. Many websites have hundreds of e-cards to choose from; select the one which best suits the personality of the recipient.

3. Type in the recipient's email address, as well as any personal message you wish to send. On the E-Cards website, click "Advanced Editor" to write your personal message, which appears below the card greeting.

4. Click on the music icon, which is shaped like a musical note on E-Cards. A pop-up window appears with various categories of songs; browse these categories. If you are not familiar with a song, click on the icon shaped like a speaker to hear a preview of it. While this is particular to the E-Cards site, other websites offering music on birthday e-cards have similar functions.

5. Click your song of choice, and click "select" at the bottom of the pop-up screen. This button may vary depending on which site you choose, but no matter the wording, the site will offer you the chance to accept.

6. Preview your card, making sure that you hear the music you chose. If you can't hear it, double-check that your computer's speakers are on.
