Instructions

    • 1

Position the decorations on the smaller lid and place the lid inside the opening of the jar that will be the snow globe to check the fit. Hold the picture to the back of the jar to make sure that the decorations won't block the picture.

    • 2

Secure the decoration to the top of the smaller lid with silicone. Allow the silicone to dry.

    • 3

Position the decorated lid in the inside center of the lid that will be used to seal the snow globe shut. Secure the decorated lid in place with a bead of clear silicone around the bottom of the decorated lid.

    • 4

Fill the jar of the snow globe with distilled water and glitter. The amount of glitter that is placed in the snow globe is based on personal taste. Add 2 or 3 drops of glycerin to the water to slow the rate of the glitters fall through the water.

    • 5

Hold the water and glitter filled jar over the top of a sink and invert the decoration into the water and secure the lid in place. Be prepared for some water to be displaced and spill over the edge of the jar. Wipe the jar off with a towel once the lid is secure.

    • 6

Trim the photo as necessary and position the photo against the back of the snow globe so that it can be seen through the jar. Use a paint brush to coat the back of the picture with clear drying craft glue. Take care to brush over the edges of the pictures so that picture is sealed in place.

    • 7

Position the snow globe in the center of the base. The base can be a block of wood, a larger lid, or just about anything that will provide the snow globe with a stable foundation. Secure the snow globe to the base with a bead of silicone around the base of the snow globe lid.

    • 8

Use crafting glue to secure the decorations around the base of the snow globe. These decorations should be arranged in a way that hides the lid of the snow globe but doesn't hide the decorations within.
