1. Expose the area of skin that has the tattoo to sunlight. Over time, sunlight lightens the ink by fading it out. This takes time, but if you don't want to spend money, it is a viable option. You can also expose it to other forms of UV rays, commonly found in tanning beds.

2. Apply tattoo removal cream. This essentially burns the tattoo off. It is rather uncomfortable, but it speeds up the removal process. Each application lightens the tattoo. You can determine when you want to stop the removal process.

3. Set up an appointment to have the tattoo removed via lasers. This works better than the cream and is the fastest fix available, although it is also the most expensive.
