How to Make an Airsoft Gun From Scratch
An "airsoft" gun refers to any homemade device that can shoot a projectile -- so named after the imitation weapons first created by the Japanese in the 1980s. To make your own airsoft-type gun from scratch, assemble a few supplies from a party store and a stationary supply. The "gun" you will make will be able to fire a soft foam projectile in a manner similar to the way a real gun operates, but without any of its inherent dangers. Adult supervision is required since an explosive agent will be used to fire the projectile.

1
Put on the safety goggles. Hold the party-popper with the handle and string facing down.
-
2
Insert the tip of a flat-edged jeweler's screwdriver beneath a corner of the cardboard flap covering the bottom of the party-popper. Pull the tip up to raise the flap. Grip the flap and pull it off the bottom of the party-popper. Dispose of the flap in the trash.

3
Remove the confetti and streamers from inside the party-popper. Dispose of the confetti and streamers in the trash.

4
Crumple a sheet of printing paper into a ball. Stop crumpling the sheet when the ball is small enough to fit into the open end of the party-popper. Apply a line of glue from the glue stick on two opposite sides of the ball. Place the ball in the open end of the party-popper so that the sides that have glue on them are touching the sides of the popper. Let the glue set for 10 minutes.
-
5
Take your single-shot airsoft-type gun outside to your backyard. Aim the open end toward a tree or bush. Pull the string on the neck of the popper to shoot the ball at the tree or bush.
