How to Make Fake Bruises With Food Coloring
Whether you're dressing up for Halloween, a school play or just for the fun of it, making fake bruises is one of the easiest looks to achieve. All you need is some food coloring and a few makeup accessories that you may already have at home. Don't worry about food color "stains" -- it will last throughout the day and well into the night, and still wash off with soap and water.
Things You'll Need
- Liquid yellow food coloring
- Makeup foam wedges
- Light olive green eye shadow
- Cotton swabs
- Dark green eye shadow
- Light powder foundation
- Powder brush
Instructions

1
Squirt 15 to 20 drops of yellow food coloring onto a makeup sponge to saturate the tip.
-
2
Move the saturated tip of the sponge in a circular motion on your skin to make a big bruiser. Feather the edges of the "bruise" to make it blend in with your skin.

-
3
Allow five minutes for the color to dry.
-
4
Apply a light olive green eye shadow to the center of the yellow bruise. Using your finger or a cotton swab, blend the light green color into the bruise.
-
5
Apply a dark green eye shadow to the very center of the bruise. Blend the dark green color into the olive green color in a circular motion.
-
6
Apply a very light layer of powder foundation to the bruise using a foundation brush. This will help to set the bruise, preventing it from wearing off.
