How to Make a Monster Costume for Toddlers
Do not spend hours looking for the perfect monster costume for your toddler. Turn an inexpensive sweat suit into an adorable costume in five steps. A few cloth strips and patches of fake fur are all you need to create a customized creepy costume for your child. Your little monster may get more smiles than scares, but making the costume yourself does not have to be frightening.

1
Cut strips of felt or fabric to decorate the front of the sweat suit and make it look like monster fur. Cut two triangular pieces that will form little horns for the top of the hood of the sweatshirt.
-
2
Baste the strips on to the front of the sweatshirt using a needle and thread. Add some strips to the legs as well. Sew the triangle-shaped pieces of fabric on to the top of the shirt's hood to form horns.

3
Make a monster tail by rolling up a long piece of fabric or felt, and filling it with cotton balls or a little bit of cotton batting. Sew the tail together to form a tube and sew it to the bottom of the sweatpants.

4
Add pieces of fake fur to the costume to add a monster touch.
-
5
Darken your child's eyebrows with an eyeliner pencil to create spooky monster eyes.
