How to Keep Fiberglass From Sticking to Forms

How to Keep Fiberglass From Sticking to Forms thumbnail
Several coats of car paste wax applied to the surface of a fiberglass form will keep the fiberglass from sticking.

Fiberglass will stick to a form that is not smooth and slick. Any build up of fiberglass resin, nicks in the form surface or build-up of wax will cause the fiberglass to stick to the form. A daily inspection of the forms is needed to make sure the surface is in top condition. Looking at the form is not enough, though --- feel the surface of the form with the palm of your hand. Check for any area that has a rough texture. Sand and wax the area before using the form.
